St. Barnabas Mothers’ Union

The Mothers’ Union was formed by Mary Sumner in 1896 and is now a global organisation that celebrates and values family life in all its forms.  Mothers’ Unions all over the world raise funds, run projects and host activities in church communities voluntarily, in support of families.

Here at St Barnabas, our members support the work of our parish and many international projects.  Activities include a Community Lunch Cafe, day trips, family activities and fundraising.  Our monthly meeting is held on the first Saturday of the month (excluding August and January) where a lunch is served, to which all are invited.

Everyone is welcome to come along and join us - our members are not all mothers, or even all women. They include men, women, single and married people, parents and grandparents - all are welcome!
