Our Mission Statement:

‘St Barnabas is committed to encouraging and nurturing all people in their faith in God and their service to the wider community.’

Mission Action Plan

‘A Mission Action Plan is a process of strategic planning that reflects on opportunities and resources available to a local church and informs a strategy to direct activities and decision-making over the coming years.’ Every Parish Church has priorities which will need resources to carry them out. So the costs of activities need to be balanced against the resources available. The main resource for churches is the financial contribution made by their parishioners; their main cost is the contribution paid to the Diocese for their work in organizing and resourcing the work of all their churches. At St Barnabas we are grateful for the generosity of our parishioners and our main priority is, as always, the worship of God.

St Barnabas, Mitcham is the Church of England Parish Church of North Mitcham, in the Diocese of Southwark, comprising Graveney ward and parts of Figges Marsh and Lavender Fields wards. St Barnabas is a member of Churches Together in Mitcham (an ecumenical body) and Mitcham Group Ministry (formed by the Anglican parishes of St Peter’s & St Paul’s, St Mark’s, St Olave’s and St Barnabas).
